SUPPLY PLANNER - CORPORATE OFFICE - FLEXIBLE LOCATION (AUSTIN OR WILLMAR, MN)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review weekly opening inventories & quality holds to compare inventories to demand forecast to generate a forward looking, weekly production plan for a series of assigned Hormel plants and co-packers.
- Have a working knowledge of all scheduling processes for all facilities that the overall department prepares production plans.
- Develops, publishes, and monitors production plans. Responsible for ensuring the manufacturing facilities are aligned to the production and fulfillment plans.
- Maintain inventory levels at target range set for each item/category assigned to planner.
- Identify new items and ensure that each item is properly set up in the production planning systems. Will also be responsible to ensure that all special situations such as label change, promotional packaging, or other unique item situations are fully understood and planned.
- Assist with compiling, monitoring, and communicating recommendations during our weekly supply planning meetings.
- Provide vacation/absence relief for supervisor and assist with special projects as needed that would include gathering data to support S&OE and S&OP/IBP meetings.
- Participates in Supply Chain projects to deliver expected outcomes.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned or necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Demonstrated dependability due to transactional customer service requirements for this position.
- Ability to initiate appropriate action independently and efficiently.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel (experience navigating through and creating spreadsheets with formulas and pivot tables).
- Solid multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
- Candidate must show ability for critical thinking as position will require reviewing and making decisions based on data review.
- Detail focused, highly developed, and demonstrated organizational ability.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and use custom computer programs.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills: ability to communicate with clarity and diplomacy with time sensitive/challenging issues.
- Demonstrated personal accountability and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Preferred
- Proficiency in order processing, mainframe, and AS400 systems.
- ERP/MRP system planning experience is highly preferred.
