What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Horseshoe Cafe?
The Horseshoe Café is looking for a part-time LINE cook to join our team.

We are a locally owned business where everyone works as a team and treats each other with respect. We are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and able to communicate well with others. Everyone picks up slack where needed, so you must be willing to accept other kitchen duties as necessary and not be afraid of dishes.
We require:
- Valid Washington State food handlers card
- Must be able to work weekends and some holidays
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and bend over to get to tricky places to clean.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must have a clear sense of urgency, be able to stay busy when slow, and do the full job expected in the amount of time expected.
Job Overview:
- Line cooks do short order cooking while taking care of their line prep, cleaning projects, and dishes. Depending on the shift, line cooks may need to help prep cooks with putting away orders.
- Prep Cooks focus on completing prep items, cleaning projects, and dishes. Depending on shift they may need to put an order away, help line cook on the line or with line prep.
** We cross train almost all cooks on line cooking and prep cooking, while this position is currently a Line-Cookposition there will be a time when cross training will happen and prep shifts will be scheduled.
Compensation: The job is $18 an hour with $2-4 extra an hour with cash tips = $20 minimum an hour going up to $22/23 depending on tips.
Part-time Position: We currently only have 10-15 hours available, with regular opportunities for more hours through covering shifts and working holidays.

- After 90 days probational period you will get a performance assessment which may result in a raise depending on a performance.

- Full time employees also receive vacation time and a monthly stipend for bus pass, cell phone costs, etc.
