Job Summary: Responsible for supervising all employees involved in the tempering process including daily work produced, training and shift safety. This position assists the Cardinal Tempering Production Manager in achieving shift production goals while following all procedures for proper production and safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises tempering employees during assigned shift to ensure that each of the tempering areas are meeting their shift production expectations.
- Assists the Cardinal Tempering Production Manager with assigning workloads and shift goals to all areas and works with Leads to meet goals and trouble-shoot issues.
- Provides additional training to all tempering employees as needed to assist the employees in learning the technical aspects of their position and working towards the next level.
- Monitors safety measures being taken in all tempering areas and by all employees to make certain no one is injured, no machines are improperly used which could lead to unnecessary wear and tear and that the tempering area is in compliance with all internal and external safety requirements.
- Works closely with Quality Control to sign off on pieces that need an additional quality check and to ensure that all products leaving the warehouse are made to order specifications and are not flawed in ways that make them unusable to the customer.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of tempering and production process.
- Strong understanding of glass industry, warehouse procedures and logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and results oriented.
- Effective time management and planning skills.
- Strong understanding of quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and prepare action plans to achieve results.
- Strong team player and group leader.
- Proficient with measurements, mathematics, fractions and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to compare drawing fabrication to final product.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift glass panels up to 125lbs. Mostly standing and walking.
Work Environment: Warehouse setting. Office setting with controlled heating and cooling.
Required Education: High School.
Required Experience: 5-8 Years of supervisory experience. Tempering experience a plus.
