We’re adding an integral member to our people team - a HR Manager for our Distribution Center in Riverside who enjoys working working with people, loves complex problems and isn't afraid to untangle webs. In this role, you will strive to be the employer-of-choice in the community, continually enhance the organizational culture, and ensure that the Company’s HR policies, procedures and strategies are executed to support the Distribution Center operation. Primary focus is talent acquisition and development for both non-exempt and exempt positions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Partnering with leadership to establish a positive work environment, enhance the employee experience and enhance the organization’s culture that enables Hot Topic to be the preferred employer in the community.
- Partner with DC Leadership to ensure talent at all levels meets business priorities.
- Partner with DC Leadership to ensure regular and consistent communication throughout the organization.
- Regularly interacts with employees to gather their feedback, assess engagement, and share results with leadership.
- Increase bench strength through full-cycle recruiting, coaching, and development of team members Conducts and directs new employee orientation process to ensure employee is able to quickly perform their job.
- Develops, executes, manages and administers company programs and training.
- Coordinates and leads Employee Involvement, Safety, and annual benefit meetings.
- Coaches managers on effective employee management, employee retention, and employee recognition and development techniques.
- Manages compliance with company, federal, state and local policies, and regulations related to employment, compensation, safety, workers compensation, and security for the DC.
- Coaches and develops managers to effectively manage employee relations, set appropriate expectations in behavior and performance which protect the employee, and the physical and financial assets of the company.
- Manages the employee separation process and collects/analyzes data to enhance the employee experience. Shares findings and recommendations with leadership team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred and or 5 -7 years’ experience in an HR Manager or Compliance Manager role.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- In-depth knowledge of California and Federal employment law required.
- Experience leading the HR function within a distribution center or warehouse environment
- Experience developing and leading training and development programs
- Builds collaborative partnerships at all levels across the organization.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment and ability to give honest, direct feedback.
- Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
- Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively, and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer programs.
