Houston Precision Fasteners (HPF) is growing..again!
Houston Precision Fasteners has an immediate opening for a new Swiss Machine Operator to assist in the production process in our facility dedicated to the fabrication of standard and custom-designed aerospace fasteners. We specialize in manufacturing high strength, close tolerance, highly precise fasteners with fast paced deliveries to defense, aerospace and commercial aircraft platforms.
The work environment is a fast-paced and requires a high attention to detail. Applicants may be required to demonstrate their knowledge via a hands-on assessment as part of the application process.
This is a full-time position with hours from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm M-F and half days Saturdays.

Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate and tend computer-controlled Swiss machine to perform one or more precision machine functions on metal work pieces, including programming G code and Macro B program commands
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments (including micrometers, calipers and gages), templates, and fixtures
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences
- Check to ensure that workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation
- Enter commands, instructions, or specifications into equipment
- Complete all set-ups independently
- Communicate effectively with persons inside HPF via face to face encounters
- Follow all company safety rules, company rules, policies and procedures as well as any applicable work instructions, specifications and requirements
- Participate in 6S activities daily
- Log into and out of systems correctly for timekeeping and job data
Requirements
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Swiss dual spindle style experience preferred CNC lathe experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience with Swiss machines highly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with G Codes
- Advanced knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods including knowledge of Swiss machine and CNC processes
- Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications in the CNC process
- Intermediate knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models as well as intermediate knowledge of geometric dimension tolerancing (GD&T) features
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
