Purpose: Houston's Merchandising Project Manager be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and high standards of merchandising accounts by implementing and upholding merchandising practices. This role also includes leading in-field projects, special projects, new store openings, resets, and remodels.
Functions or Duties:
- Responsible for rolling out and overseeing projects to completion as directed by senior leadership, ensuring all objectives have been met, and post-project evaluations have been conducted.
- Responsible for leading new store openings, resets, and remodels, while providing progress updates and input on the direction of projects to senior leadership throughout the process.
- Responsible for manager, supervisor and merchandiser coverage when/where needed.
- Utilize knowledge of company needs, goals, policies and procedures to enforce senior leadership directives.
- Utilize judgement, creativity, and authority to identify, address and resolve issues that arise during the project, ensuring minimal disruption to project goals.
- Report to senior leadership on any obstacles to a program’s success, including operational issues, staff performance, client relations, and product issues.
- Monitor account inventory levels and preform store audits.
- Oversee specified Merchandising accounts and end-user relations.
- Build and maintain promotional displays.
- Use hand held devices to input/submit orders.
- Provide exceptional customer service and work closely with personnel.
- Assists managers with the hiring process, including conducting interviews and training new employees.
- Maintain project documentation, including plans, reports, and status updates.
- Assist with creating and maintaining detailed project schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid government-issued identification
- Leadership, coaching and mentor skills
- Ability to analyze problems, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of order taking, product rotation and inventory management
- Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated and dependableMaintain a clean and neat appearance
Education and Experience:
- High School graduate or GED
- 5 years of management experience preferred
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Lifting, loading, pushing and pulling products weighing upwards of 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Climbing stairs or ladders, as well as walking, squatting, kneeling, bending or reaching while merchandising and moving products
- Be exposed to loud noise and machinery, plus able to judge distances and read signs; therefore, hearing and vision are required
- Be exposed to cold or heat while preforming job duties

- Required daily driving (personal vehicle) to access multi-store locations within assigned shift. May include driving at night, and/or in the dark, especially in winter months. Mileage is reimbursed to and from store location.
