The Adventure Shack and Rentals manager oversees the daily management of the Adventure
Shack and Boat Rental Operation located in Centennial Park in which patrons may purchase
food, general store items and rent boats (canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and jon boats). Managers are selected for their customer service skills, supervisory experience and knowledge of concessions and boat rentals. Highly preferred experience in canoeing, kayaking, boating,
register/point of sale and customer service. Applicants must be at least age 20 years of age.
Managers average 35-45 hours per week. Salaries vary based on position and qualifications.
This is a seasonal job that runs April-September.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Level I: 1 to 2 years experience with boat operations (Paraprofessional)
Level II: 2 to 3 years experience with boat operations (Paraprofessional)
Level III: 4 years experience with boat operations (Paraprofessional)
RATE OF PAY: Contingent - Salary commensurate with experience and certification(s)
Level I: $18.00 - $22.00/hour (Paraprofessional)
Level II: $21.00 - $23.00/hour (Paraprofessional)
Level III: $23.00 - $32.00/hour (Professional)

- Strong ability to communicate to the public and emergency personnel and give instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism.
- Lifesaving and CPR certifications preferred.
- Completion of Maryland Boater Safety Course
- Have sound judgement and risk management skills
- Working weekends and holidays are a must.
