The Woodlands Resort is located in the award winning master planned community of The Woodlands, Texas 45 minutes north of Houston. The hotel features 402 guestrooms, concierge floors and 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The area around the hotel is home to multiple Fortune 500 companies, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, shopping, dining and entertainment venues.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant patrons. Assess customer’s needs and make recommendations based on preferences. Interact with customers and stay guest focused to nurture an excellent guest experience. Create classic and innovative beverages. Knowledgeable on mixology and comply with all food and beverage regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Order all liquor, beer, wine, set-ups and bar food
- Complete all required set up duties
- Maintain proper par levels for all alcoholic beverages
- Prepare all alcohol beverages according to designated recipes and garnishes
- Adhere to all company cash handling policies and enforce all check and cash handling policies with the wait staff
- Secure all bottles and silver items in the liquor room
- Close out all food and beverage checks as they are paid
- Maintained issued bank in accordance with company policy
- Ensure that all liquor, beer and wine is securely locked away
- Prepare the daily cashier report for all food and beverage sales
- Monitor and record all voided sales, deletions and discounts
- Clean and maintain bar area including shelves, coolers, sinks, ice bins, storeroom, pourers, bottles with dust/residue, glasses, ashtrays, and bar top
- Perform any additional job related duties requested by management
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a cooperative and friendly manner with fellow employees, set a positive example.
- Provide the highest level of guest service to the hotel’s clients.
- Promote the hotel through goodwill, teamwork spirit, courtesy and a positive attitude.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism by arriving on-time for scheduled shift in full uniform and properly groomed
- Follow all safety and security procedures and rules.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
- Excellent time management skills
- Flexible to work varying schedules
- Ability and willingness to work closely with others
- Follow fair, progressive discipline/coach and counseling procedures
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, additional language ability is a plus, however, not required.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- 6 months prior bartender/customer service experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
