WHAT IS THE ROLE?
We are looking for a team member who is an energetic, hardworking individual with a positive and self-starting attitude to fill this position. As a Sales Manager, reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will own the critically important role in continuing HPL’s aggressive growth plans. A HPL Sales Manager is passionate about driving commercial results and will be asked to:
- Manage a 360 sales team and provide guidance, coaching, and training to ensure they meet their targets.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow revenue and profitability.
- Accountable for meeting and exceeding sales forecasts.
- Build relationships with new customers to increase sales.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and customers to ensure profitability.
- Analyze market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Work closely with the team to ensure timely and efficient transportation and warehousing of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.
- Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to ensure a high level of customer service is provided.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Actively seek and participate in business development and networking opportunities
- Represent HPL at conferences, trade shows, and other events to promote sales
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level of organizational skills
- Have a positive attitude, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to be successful

The ideal candidate for this role will have a demonstrable background of building sales teams through recruiting, training, coaching and mentoring your team. In addition, the candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales management in the logistics industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry, including supply chain management and warehousing.
- Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics management software.
