Job Description
We are currently seeking a Revenue Cycle Analyst with a strong background in medical insurance and/or healthcare billing and collections who will report to the AVP of Revenue Cycle.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Plans and directs insurance documentation, workloads, and data processing to ensure accurate billing and collections
- Responsible for the insurance/school/other contract renewal process under the direction of the AVP of Revenue Cycle; including amendments to fee schedules and contract terms
- Maintains contact with other departments to obtain and analyze additional information needed to document and process accurate billing, minimizing the denials received by the collectors
- Acts as a neutral party to select and prepare monthly audit report for Revenue Cycle Directors
- Acts as point person for system implementations for existing and new clients
- Responsible for ad-hoc project work as assigned by the AVP of Revenue Cycle
- Keeps up to date with insurance and DPH rules changes, and aligns system functionality and processes with changes
- Understands and remains updated with current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements
- Provides, oversees, and/or coordinates the provision of training for new and existing 3rd Party staff on policies, procedures, etc.
- Oversees specialty contracts with school districts, CCSD and other contracts as assigned
- Provides system and analytic support to Directors of Revenue Cycle for ABA and EI clients
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required, Associates Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Health Care Administration or related field preferred.
- Successful completion of program in medical billing or current Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) certification will be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- Minimum of five (5) years medical insurance/healthcare billing and collections experience in a medical practice or health system.
- Minimum of three (3) years revenue cycle analyst experience preferred. Experience in CPT and ICD-10 coding and familiarity with medical terminology.
