Overview

The Community Program Manager plays an exciting and crucial role at HSSV: building and growing programs that keep families together and save lives. This role requires a high-energy and passionate individual who believes that all families deserve to have pets and is committed to breaking down barriers that prevent caregivers from getting access to veterinary care and pet services.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement community-centric, needs-based programs that provide meaningful access to high quality pet care for those who need it the most.
  • Lead cross functional teams to start up and maintain impactful programs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create and manage scalable community- based programs such as mobile and stationary veterinary clinics, senior programs, emergency boarding, pet rental assistance, pet food pantry, mobile veterinary clinics, behavioral training programs. etc.
  • Assess communities to identify high impact areas for future veterinary clinic locations and lead the cross-functional team who drives the launch.
  • Build strong internal teams and deep relationships with community members to sustain and grow programs.
  • Develop internal protocols, training materials, and recommend training tools that focus on inclusion, equity, and access.
  • Act as a liaison within the community, identifying and building partnerships and collaborative projects.
  • Ensure programs are developed and structured to deliver on planned outcomes and budgeted costs.
  • Participate in publicity and awareness for community programs in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Establish and manage key performance metrics that support effective decision-making.
  • Leverage project management applications such as Asana to organize program details.
  • Evaluate programs and make data-driven improvements to current programs, expansion of existing programs, and creation of new programs to increase HSSV’s impact in animal welfare.
  • Other job duties may be assigned as needed.


Requirements


  • Experience with program management and working in community programs; animal welfare industry a plus.
  • Strong administrative and planning experience, including process development and evaluation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills (with diverse internal and external audiences), including excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as customer service skills.
  • Ability to have good judgement and make decisions with the understanding of how those decisions can impact the larger organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive data based decision making as well as strong, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous success working collaboratively to deliver program objectives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Equally comfortable with independent and team-based work.
  • Ability to be adaptable and comfortable with change.
  • Highly proficient with computer skills including Microsoft Office and project management applications such as Asana.


Work Days and Hours
Work schedule will typically be Tuesday through Saturday based on program events.
