We are seeking a highly organized Legal Assistant who will be responsible for a variety of law-related tasks such as research, drafting legal documents and other related duties and manage our billing process. As a specialist in billing, you’ll manage everyday transactions for the department such as reviewing reports related to the law department billing system and interaction with the corporate financial payment system, request and track legal settlement check/wire requests and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of payment and spend data, resolving billing issues, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.What you’ll do:
- Manage the daily oversight of the law department billing system and interaction with the corporate financial payment system
- Respond to law firm and legal service provider inquiries regarding billing and payment
- Resolving billing issues, such as discrepancies or disputes, by communicating with law firms and legal service providers and other key stakeholders
- Pull and create accurate payment and spend records and reports
- Request and manage timely issuance of settlement checks and wires
- Assist with other accounting and finance functions as needed
- Collaborate with Finance and other departments to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, settlement checks/wires, reporting and analysis
- Maintain and answer questions related to law department billing guidelines, prompt pay. volume discounts and other negotiated payment arrangements
- Law firm and legal service provider vendor set-up in the law department billing system and corporate financial system
- Track and manage legal subscriptions

Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in billing, accounting or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel skills including ability to create pivot tables and summarizing data
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- An aptitude for customer service
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
- Comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial information
- Experience with CounselLink or Oracle
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
