The Medical Records Retrieval Representative (Risk Adjustment Representative 2) works with regional providers to utilize EMR access and other retrieval methods to retrieve member medical records that will be submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other government agencies.
Responsibilities
The Medical Records Retrieval Representative (Risk Adjustment Representative 2) travels to provider offices in the Albany, NY area and the surrounding counties to retrieve requested medical records through various retrieval methods while following state and federal regulations as well as internal policies and guidelines. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and complete record retrieval in accordance with provided deadlines. Will also perform job related administrative duties and special projects when assigned.
- Travels up to 100% in the capital district and surrounding areas as needed. Travel will consist of driving to locations close to your home, as well as traveling to locations that require overnight travel for up to a week at a time
- Collaborates with provider offices through phone calls and visits
- Uses multiple EMR systems to access records following all HIPAA guidelines
- Uses a laptop computer, portable scanner, and external thumb drive to retrieve. medical records which will be uploaded into a database
- Schedules appointments and visits to physician offices in a timely, efficient manner to meet all deadlines
- Will assist with regional phone calls and administrative projects as needed

Required Qualifications
- 1 years experience working with various EMR systems
- 1 years experience in a hospital or provider setting
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Teams
- Strong ability to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
- Must be available to travel up to 100% of the time
- This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Previous healthcare or health insurance experience preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and/or ICD-10 codes
