Purchasing Manager

As one of the nation’s fastest growing kombucha companies, Humm Kombucha is on a quest to put the goodness of Humm in the hands of as many people as possible.

We are hiring a Purchasing Manager. Our Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, packaging materials, some equipment and services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better prices and quality while maintaining excellent relationships with vendors and coworkers. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

In this role, some of the ways you will contribute to the success of Humm is by: 

• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
• Manage and negotiate annual contracts ensuring that vendor contracts protect Humm's best interests. 
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis.
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand with key suppliers.
• Assist in sourcing new materials and request samples for Research and Development.
• Investigate pricing trends for raw materials, components and supplies, recommending the timing and quantity of purchases.
• Process annual RFP bids and evaluates bids, proposals, and quotations we receive. 
• Facilitate meetings with suppliers to present cost saving measure or to resolves issues as needed. 

What’s Required for Consideration:

• 5+ years of Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, ERP system.
• Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems often required.
• Strong problem solving, process-improvement and analytical skills.
• Excellent data entry.
• Must be able to work independently, seek answers when help is needed and motivated to seek out additional tasks for completion.
• Willingness to adjust to fast paced team and changing needs
• Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures accurately and thoroughly
