About the Role:
Were on the hunt for a dynamic Roadway Construction Inspector to join the hive on behalf of our client. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) projects with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and local municipalities. If you're passionate about transportation infrastructure and have a knack for detailed inspections, we want to meet you!
Your Mission:
- Conduct Inspections: Inspect construction on bridge, highway, and railroad projects to ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
- Measure & Record: Observe, measure, and record all construction quantities for contractor payment and review.
- Traffic Control Review: Review and document traffic control daily, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Erosion Control Inspection: Inspect erosion control items for compliance and effectiveness, preparing necessary documentation.
What You Bring:
- Experience: 1 year of relevant CEI experience.
- Education: High school diploma preferred.
- License: Valid driver's license required.
- Skills: Experience in transportation (bridge, roadway, rail) construction inspection.
Bonus Points For:
- Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training, Radiation Safety/Nuclear Gauge/Hazmat Training, TDOT Concrete Field Testing, TDOT Soils & Aggregate, and TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Roadway Certifications.
- Software Knowledge: Experience with Site Manager Software and Roadway Plans.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime, limited nighttime construction, and overnight travel as needed.
