POSITION SUMMARY
Assists the EMS Education & Training Coordinator in the training and orientation of new and current employees in the Emergency Medical Services Division by providing feedback using established performance evaluations. This position will lead by example through the use of policies and procedures of the employee handbook and the EMS Division Standard Operating Guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily.
- Provides initial and ongoing training of employees and provides recommendations for improvement to the Education & Training Coordinator.
- Provides classroom education for staff as needed and requested.
- Evaluates employee’s field performance of company standard operating guidelines, patient care and reviewing clinical documentation.
- Serves as a liaison between management and employees, municipalities, health care facilities, and other related entities or persons.
- Communicates verbally and in writing pertinent information to new employees regarding their performance evaluations.
- Communicates progress of field training to appropriate supervisory representative during the shift.
- Participates in staff development training exercises, meetings as requested or required and assists in special projects assigned by management.
- Monitors and evaluates retraining for employees during introductory period.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Current State of Connecticut EMT OR Paramedic Certification
- Additional Certifications as required by their job classification
- MUST have 18 months of continuous service in the EMS Division at Hunter's Ambulance at time of application
