Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting for a temporary Receptionist in our Houston office. This position is responsible for assuring that calls are answered promptly and routed to voice mail or accurate messages are taken and entered into voice mail by the Receptionist; greets clients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner and directs individuals to appropriate persons and locations within the firm. Exhibits a customer service approach in all aspects of work, and ensures a high-quality experience for all visitors/guests.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Experience in a professional services office or other legal support experience preferred. Computer and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
Other Qualifications: Exceptional written and verbal communication and listening skills. Accurate typing, word processing skills and ability to pay strict attention to detail. Spelling, punctuation and use of grammar must be of high quality. Must have strong organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions. Visual acuity needed for transcription, extensive reading and input (typing) of information into computer. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral and written communication. Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory. Ability to maintain flexibility regarding work assignments to work overtime on short notice required. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess the abilities or aptitudes to proficiently perform each of the responsibilities and accountabilities described above, with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Monitors and distributes incoming phone calls on the Firm phone system; Answers general questions and directs individuals to appropriate persons within the Firm.
- Greets clients and visitors and assists them as necessary; Offers beverages, hangs coats, secures luggage, and escorts to conference room.
- Assures that reception area, visitor offices, and general conference area are kept neat and clean.
- Validates parking for clients; Assigns temporary badges to visiting lawyers and staff.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
