Hurlbut Care Communities, a community of 11 skilled nursing facilities across 4 counties ( Monroe, Wayne, Seneca and Livingston Counties), is looking for well qualified Registered Nurses to join our health care team, Full Time or Part - Time as RN Nursing Home Epidemiology Coordinators .

Job Duties :
Responsible for identifying, controlling, and preventing outbreaks of infections in the facility.
Collects and analyzes infection control data.
Develops, revises, and implements infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
Develops, implements, and maintains ongoing training and educational programs for all facility personnel in relation to infection prevention and control topics.
Acts as an infection prevention and control educational resource for residents, employees, volunteers, and visitors.
Promotes compliance with accident prevention procedures, safety rules, and safe work practices to prevent employee injury and illness
Ensure equipment is used in a safe manner and report any maintenance concerns to the Director of Maintenance. Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the appropriate persons.
Understands Infection Control and follows the Company’s Infection Control guidelines, such as hand washing principles, understanding of isolation and standard precautions, recognizing signs and symptoms of infection, demonstrating and understanding of the process for identifying and handling infectious waste and cross contamination, maintaining personal hygiene, and complying with OSHA standards in the workplace.
Performs other tasks as required.
Tracks Infection rates and antibiotic use
Oversees resident isolation processes
Employee Health tracking: immunization administration, employee Physical compliance, Covid Documentation, etc
Fit Testing employees Annually and in Orientation for N-95 mask
Qualifications:
Current New York RN License in good standing
Current CPR certification a plus
Current infection control certification (or willingness to complete the CDC infection control preventionist training course)
Minimum of 1 years’ experience in nursing supervision or nursing management in a long-term care setting.
Proof of COVID19 Vaccination Required
Knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitative, and medical-surgical nursing care.
Professional attitude, high degree of self-motivation and leadership qualities.
Knowledge, ability, and awareness of reviewing all sources and means of spread of infection and current modes of prevention.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
