General Summary of Position
This position is responsible for performing professional and administrative processes related to benefits administration, recruitment/employment, on-boarding of new employees, personnel records and job descriptions, and compliance of Hurley policies. Works closely with senior management in supporting corporate and branch office locations. This position might be located in any one of our Midwest offices (Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota or South Dakota) or it may be a remote position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Implements employee benefits programs; studies and assesses benefit needs and trends, recommends benefit programs to management, obtains, and evaluates benefit contract bids, designs and conducts programs to educate employees on benefit opportunities.
- Supports staffing needs by conducting a recruiting and interviewing program. Reviews and recommends improvements.
- Updates job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Participates in the orientation program; coordinates with other team members to ensure new hires receive the information they need.
- Serves the organization through planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources programs, policies and practices and conducts investigations within the organization if needed.
- Maintains legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements.
- Conducts and analyzes exit interviews; shares appropriate information with management and recommends changes.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
- Above average communication skills -to include listening, written, and verbal skills which include one-on-one communications and group presentations, required.
- Ability to maintain objectivity and manage conflict if needed, required.
- Strong time management and organizational skills - ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, required.
Human Resources
- HR law and documentation; knowledge, skills and experience with recruiting and benefits required.
- Experience and ability to develop Employee Handbook criteria and contents.
- Ability to design, implement and deliver orientation policies and practices.
- Ability to support the Hurley & Associates business model.
Technical Skill Requirements
- Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel intermediate level experience
- Internet and Web Site navigation and research experience.
- HRIS, Applicant Tracking Software and Background Check processes experience preferred.
Confidentiality Requirement
- Has access to confidential information and therefore, required to sign a confidentiality agreement
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- Five years of experience in benefits human resources role required
- Three years of experience in recruiting human resources role required
- Two years of supervisory experience recommended
Licensing or Certification Requirements
- PHR or SPHR strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
- Travel required
- Office setting with desk work
