This position owns the production schedule and flow of components to and from the production line and cells. Schedules and coordinates flow of shipping activities to ensure accurate production planning and inventory control for customer requirement. Assesses daily scrap counts, cycle counts, location reconciliation, and raw material re-order from warehouse to cage/cell locations within the manufacturing facility. This position’s work station/office will be on the production floor. This position reports to the Logistics/Materials Manager.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:

· Associate’s degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field preferred, with at least five years working experience in production scheduling or inventory control in a manufacturing environment. If no degree, 7 years’ experience in related field.

· Experience applying JIT, 5S, and other Lean Manufacturing methodologies under a continuous improvement (Kaizen) philosophy.

· Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office programs.

· Experience with AS400, PowerLink/XA, inventory management systems, back flush locations and materials transfers required. Knowledge of, or experience in, designing, development, and/or implementing cycle count systems.

· Must be able to work self-directed in a fast paced environment. Ability to seamlessly transition between working independently to working as part of a team is required.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: (duties may vary depending on production schedules)

  • In conjunction with Logistics Management / Production Management/Supervision in the development of schedules for raw materials, and manpower with respect to customer demand versus resource capabilities and availability.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels within the manufacturing facility for all raw material and finished good products in support of customer demand and ship schedules.
  • Work with the Logistics Manager to develop schedule for scrap material using the company plan and systems.
  • Working with the Logistics Manager to develop and procure support based on inventory variances.
  • Establish and maintain Kanban throughout the plants, inclusive of warehouse
  • On a daily basis, investigate / correct & determine root cause of inventory variances; reporting results to Logistics, Operations and Plant managers.
  • Perform duties associated with physical inventory administration, final variance analysis, and implementing countermeasures for discrepancies.
  • Develop short-term production plan based on customer shipment schedule.
  • Develop strategy for replenishing raw materials and supplies from domestic and international suppliers within the manufacturing facility to support production using the company plan.
  • Develop, maintain, and initiate new part numbers in association with Hutchinson Customers, QA Department, Logistics, and Production per company plan.
  • Assist Engineering in maintaining accurate bill of materials per company plan.
  • Perform job duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including OSHA and EPA.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities of the incumbent
  • Must actively support our Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, immediately report all dangerous situations and correct them when able to do so safely, participate in all required Safety Training, meetings, inspections and use all required PPE.
