Position: General Utility Worker
Job Summary: The primary function of the General Utility Worker position is to clean and sanitize all dining utensils, drinking glasses, and dishes to maintain the health and safety standards of the facility and increase overall customer satisfaction.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Main duties include cleaning and sanitizing all pots, pans, utensils and all service ware after use
- Responsible for proper use of all equipment, specifically cleaning, loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Stock, organize, and maintain utensils and all service ware in the food court during meal production
- Stock, organize, and maintain utensils, pots, pans, and all service ware in the kitchen during and after meal production
- Follow food and service ware safety standards at all times
- Clean and sanitize work stations, counters, dish belt, floors, and equipment while following all departmental regulations and procedures
- Follow proper sanitation, lifting procedures and food handling controls
- Assist in the utility area of the kitchen
- Responsible for floor and wall care of entire facility (use Tennant floor machine when applicable)
- Spot sweep and clean the floors, checking for spills in the dish room as well as the front of the house
- Clean the drains in the kitchen and dish room
- Take out trash in the dish room
- Cross-train for sanitation, beverages, and table attendant position and provide assistance in those areas as needed
- Report safety hazards discovered in the location to management immediately
- Report all injuries immediately to your manager/supervisor
- Daily use of appropriate PPE for the task assigned
- Follow correct use of chemicals used in the location(s)
Additional Job Functions:
- Stock inventory shipments and help complete weekly inventory counts
- Assist in other areas as needed
- Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or member of the Bridgeman Hospitality management team
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
- Able to effectively communicate and understand directions
- Able to understand safety rules, Bridgeman Hospitality Alcohol Regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
- Willing to perform a variety of tasks as assigned
- Good communication skills and organizational skills
- Interest in self development, willingness to learn, and ability to succeed in a team environment

- Successful completion of the Bridgeman Hospitality Hourly Food Handlers training within the first 30 days of employment
- Must be willing to follow all Bridgeman Hospitality Safety Standards

- Ability to speak and follow detailed written instructions
- Courtesy and tact in dealing with guests, co-workers, as well as others in the college community
Work Environment:
- Mostly back of the house
- Inside kitchen area/dish room and includes interaction with heated equipment, steam, loud noises, chemical products, and other at risk conditions
