Job Summary:
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for completing tasks in support to deliver zero defects by supporting or leading containment activities, problem-solving, customer claim activities, coaching/mentoring team members, and supporting the quality test lab and its processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensuring completeness and accuracy of all inspection records and test data
- Evaluating and reviewing processes on the plant floor including proper documentation
- Conducting non-conformance investigations
- Documenting deviations and/or conducting failure investigations, as appropriate
- Developing, coordinating, and providing training on Quality standards and processes for team members
- Is a subject matter expert in the area of quality lab testing, equipment, dispositioning, lab backup, extrusion processes, etc.
- Provide customer support for quality issues, and technical problem solving, and ensure that quality standards are understood, maintained, and adhered to by both the plant and customer facilities.
- Provides a connection between the customer and the plant in claims support, technical problem-solving, and improvement projects
- Assist customers in the fundamentals of aluminum, extrusion processes, and quality requirements
- Daily walks to scour the site for visible issues in the product and process. Coordinates immediate resolution.
- Trains / Coaches Team Members: Supports learning organization initiative through daily teaching/coaching on the shop floor. Imparts technical knowledge of the process and reactionary logic based on process deviation observation.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
- Demonstrates high standards for excellence and core belief in quality compliance, and accuracy in reporting, and always puts safety first.
Required Education/Experience:
- A post-secondary degree is highly desired, but not required.
- Minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience with aluminum extrusion or related manufacturing processes
- Proven Safety, quality, and technical support Aluminum manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of QMS systems and ISO-9001
