Summary of Position:
The Training Instructor will oversee the training lab. Which includes all lab activities including the actual training and performance of team members.

- Meets company safety goals
Technical:
- Develops and conducts programs to train employees of assembly and quality in installation, inspection, safety, and repair of production vehicle seats, following standard work instructions, safety procedures, and MES build sequences, using hand tools, smart screw gun drivers, DC torque system tools and various other tooling and fixtures: Confers with management and staff or Technical Training Coordinator to determine training objectives.
- Develops training objectives, writes training programs, including PPT presentations, handouts, and test exercises, applying knowledge of seat assembly and troubleshooting.
- Schedules classes based on classroom and equipment availability.
- Lectures class on safety, assembly, and quality, following outline, handouts, and texts, and using visual aids, such as graphs, charts, videotape, slides, etc.
- Demonstrates procedures being taught, such as following work instructions, company rules, expected behaviors, and safety practices.
- Assumes full responsibility of training lab. Observes trainees during training and answers trainees' questions.
- Administers written and practical (hands on) exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance.
- Conducts management review meetings and management feedback useful to training facility and integrates information into training program.
- Required to coordinate with maintenance and engineering for repairs to training tooling and equipment.
- Issues purchase requisitions for the procurement of tooling and equipment.
- Supports tool database and system tool set up. Will be required to utilize PC based software to support tool programming.
- Other applicable duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience, automotive preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a leadership role
Education:
- High School/ GED (Technical Education field preferred)
Software Skills Required
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints and drawings
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Power point, Excel, Word)
- Above average mechanical aptitude with assembly processes
- Skilled at use of both power and hand tools
- Leadership skills
- Basic knowledge of quality systems including TS-16949, ISO and QS; continuous improvement, Kaizen, 5-S, lean manufacturing, KANBAN, TPS
