Industrial Maintenance Manager
The Industrial Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance and operational performance of all industrial equipment, ensuring optimal production and safety standards. This role involves direct communication with the Maintenance Manager and other key personnel to address all repair and maintenance issues. The manager assigns daily tasks to maintenance personnel and cleaners, providing leadership and support to optimize facility operations.
Responsibilities Industrial Maintenance Manager:
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA, and regulatory guidelines, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Develop and implement Health & Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct safety training for employees.
- Lead and manage maintenance personnel across multiple shifts to ensure efficient production.
- Serve as a backup operator for critical industrial machinery during emergencies.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Maintenance team to assess repair and maintenance needs, and plan necessary parts orders.
- Prepare and execute a six-month plan for repairs, upgrades, and major projects.
- Manage inventory of spare components and wear parts.
- Implement and maintain Quality Control programs, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Address issues with off-grade materials before shipment to prevent complaints.
- Prepare and monitor daily production reports to improve throughput and profitability.
- Set and achieve operational goals based on management projections.
- Conduct interviews, review employee performance, and ensure compliance with HR policies and union contracts.
- Support the company's internal control processes and communicate any operational issues to management.
Qualifications Industrial Maintenance Manager:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-10 years of manufacturing experience, with 2-5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing a work crew and a background in maintenance.
- Familiarity with a unionized work environment is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proven success in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing a departmental budget and justifying capital expenditures.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery operations, including changing parts and understanding hydraulic equipment/systems.
- Physical ability to handle job demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds and navigating uneven surfaces.
