MissionCare at Holyoke is looking for a 20-24 hour Dietician to join our one-of-a-kind and innovative program.
Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to plan diets and menus for patients, educate residents and staff about eating healthy foods, and supervise food preparation and service. This position is also responsible for the oversight of the facility weight management program.
Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement appropriate menus and food choices for residents.
•Develop and maintain written food service policies and procedures.
•Review and develop a plan of correction for food services deficiencies noted during survey inspections.
•Assists with the development of food safety standards.
•Develop and participate in conducting in-service training classes and ensure a well-educated dietary services staff.
•Conduct face to face resident interviews and assessments of resident cognitive, mood, behavioral status in addition to other psychosocial factors.
Qualifications:
- Current/active State of Massachusetts license/ registration, required
- Training in cost control, food management, food sanitary standards and diet therapy, required
- Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or food service management or related field, required
- Must have effective face to face interviewing skills for the development of resident assessments
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Improvement process as well as state/federal regulations and surveys
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel, required.
- Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing, required.
