Lead Warehouse Operator (3rd Shift)

IceCap is a brand new 189,000 square foot cold storage facility functioning efficiently and safely in Council Bluffs, IA. POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Warehouse Operator executes all daily work set forth by Operations Supervisors ensuring it is completed productively and safely.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor all special projects within the warehouse. Focuses on specific customer needs and/or requests.
• Provide updates to Operations Supervisors.
• Achieve warehouse performance objectives (KPI’s).
• Train forklift operators on standard work instructions.
• Coach forklift operators on Alchemy/computer system.
• Plan and coordinate for direct warehouse operations to include production and labor planning for on time execution.
• Enforce operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling merchandise, and maintaining inventory.
• Ability to use or have capacity to learn WMS program for order lookup, inventory, etc.
• Ensure the operations team follows standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
• Assist with enforcing safety policies and warehouse sanitation.
• Provide incident and near miss support, including investigations, root causes and corrective actions.
• Match the skill and background of personnel to the work required.
• Assures that customer accounts receive prompt, efficient service.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

• Understanding of the public refrigerated warehouse industry.
• Working knowledge of the functions of material handling equipment (forklifts, fall protection, battery chargers, etc.)
• Advanced understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations and requirements.
• Experience with continuous quality improvement processes.
• Experience training operators on equipment.
• Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Verbal and written communications skills including the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills.
• Ability to lead team meetings.
• Strong conflict management skills.
• Ability to work in temperatures as low as -10 Fahrenheit and lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including evenings and weekends, if needed.
