Description
The Patient Access Specialist is responsible to the Director of Patient Financial Services for the efficient and effective operation of the Patient Accounting Department. Regarding patient health information, has access to demographics, billing, and limited clinical data relevant to the current encounter.
Shift: M-F 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A Two year college degree in Business is preferred.
- Two (2) years or more of on the job experience in a like or similar position is desired.
- Must have proficiency in English, typing, and the use of a calculator.
- Must have a good working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, welfare agencies, and insurances. Insurance billing experience is preferred.
- Ability to understand and discuss patients’ records, insurances, etc. with fellow employees, the public, etc.
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
