The primary responsibility of the Wall Panel Assembler is to precisely assemble wood material and components along and other parts for production. The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize. The ideal candidate will have the ability to utilize critical thinking skills to identify issues; work independently and as a team member; have knowledge and understanding of wood component assembly.
Job Purpose: Entry-level position responsible for assembling interior and or exterior walls. Stocks materials and supplies and bands/stacks finished products.
Job Duties:
- Complies with all PPE standards and is aware of all safety practices of shop. Work areas to be kept clean and free of tripping hazards at all times. All equipment to be properly guarded and used in accordance with applicable manufacturers’ recommendations and is aware of safe lifting procedures.
- Make sure joints are tight and and properly positioned ensuring the finished product quality.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Monitors production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
- Carpentry and framing experience
- Stocks supplies and materials for assembly set-up.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
- A thorough understanding of shop drawings, and structures
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed components
- Assists in the set-up of component assembly process.
- Trained to operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
- Prepares component materials and supplies on carts and production floor
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintains equipment and keeps ready for each shift
- Other duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Has at least 1 years of carpentry experience.
- Is a team player.
- Is detail oriented.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must be able to prove eligibility to work in the United States.
- Able to work overtime when necessary
- Good communication skills
Hazards:
- Exposure to mutable types of weather conditions.
- Exposure to wood dust and debris.
- Operating nail gun and other power tools
- Lifting material and equipment from 10 lbs. and up.
- Excessive bending, kneeling, twisting and crouching.
- Exposure to loud noise from machinery and tools.
- Exposure to falling and flying particles.
