CNC/MANUAL MACHINIST – Northeast Pennsylvania
ICON is currently seeking an CNC Machinist to support machine shop operations in NorthEast PA.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Ability to set-up from blueprint and operate CNC lathe, manual lathe, vertical boring machine, mills, press brake, and horizontal planer.
- Perform machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming parts.
- Makes necessary machine adjustments and reports improper functioning or cutting action for correction.
- Perform operations such as tapping, spot‐facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring to close tolerances.
- Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures and established methods.
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, or other irregularities from machined parts.
- Routinely maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to division requirements.
- Must be able to with minimal supervision and assistance.
- Develop a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications.
- Measure and mark raw materials needed to manufacture parts.
- Set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
- Modify parts and materials to improve overall production.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments.
- Utilize micrometers, telescoping gauges, dial indicates and feeler gauges.
- Set-up and tear down manual lathes, girders, and mills (bridgeports)
- Inspect finished parts for flaws and defects.
- Must be able to with minimal supervision and assistance.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATION:
- 2 years experience in related machining experience.
- Familiarity machine tools and equipment.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Possess the required tools for this position.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Expected to ensure their workmanship meets or exceeds applicable standard industry and or customer contract specifications.
