Idaho Retina Center is seeking another Medical Office Receptionist to work in our busy Retina Specialist clinic. As the first person seen by our patients and other customers, the Medical Office Receptionist must be friendly, have exceptional communication skills and a professional appearance. Responsibilities include checking in patients for appointments, collecting patient co-pays, answering telephones, taking accurate messages, scheduling appointments, and checking insurance eligibility. The Medical Office Receptionist is also responsible for the overall management of the waiting room atmosphere, keeping patients informed about wait times, and ensuring a comfortable and clean waiting area.
Status: Full time, 36 hours per week
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:45 - 4:45 varied.
Responsibilities:
- Highest quality customer service on the phone and in person
- Greets patients and visitors. Determines their needs and directs them accordingly
- Data entry of demographic and insurance information
- Scheduling and registering patients, including the accurate collection of required data
- Receives, answers and responds to telephone calls from patients or their representatives
- Scanning and faxing patient information
- Answers questions and gives information directly or on the telephone within the scope of practice. All other questions referred to a specific department as needed.
- Collects all co-pays, deductibles, and past balances as indicated on insurance card or as documented by billing staff. Updates new insurance information as received
- Other duties as assigned
- Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience required. Healthcare experience preferred. Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while keeping a professional and calm composure
- Previous clinical experience preferred
- Customer service oriented attitude/behavior
- Computer proficiency is required and ability to use applicable software as required performing the essential functions of the job
- Bilingual a plus

All patients are required to wear facemasks and frequently touched surfaces are sanitized regularly. Plexiglass barrier has been installed at the front desk to reduce risk of transmission via breath, sneezes, and coughs.
