Job Description
The Senior Credit Officer - US Private Banking works with both client and Bankers and is responsible for the integrality and overall performance of the US private banking loan portfolio.
- Interact with clients and bankers to facilitate the proper structuring of credit facilities by evaluate client needs and tailoring appropriate solutions while managing client expectations throughout the process.
- Oversee all renewals, past dues and overdrafts
- Assis middle office underwriting and portfolio manager by providing coaching and instructions as needed.
- Ensure that the U.S. Private Banking is in compliance with all policies, procedures, regulations, audit standards and risk guidelines
- Work with the team (bankers and middle office) to ensure the timely renewal and extension of credit facilities.
- Provide subject matter expertise and relivant bank products and assist relationship managers in identifying potential cross sales opportunities.
- Ensure all relevant documents are collected in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance (especially with more complicated request) to private banking, middle office, underwriters/ portfolio managers in the preparation of all credit memorandums and negotiations to achieve all require credit approvals.
- Ensure adherence to all auditing and compliance requirements
- Train and coach middle office underwaters to better develop their analytical skill with respect to private banking credits.
- Wiliness to take on special projects as they arise.
- Work with middle office management to best utilize underwriting resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or MBA (preferred)
- At least 10 years of credit and lending experience for high net worth individuals
- Broad understanding of underwriting for business loans and real estate loans
- Knowledge of Federal Lending Regulations
