IDEMIA, the global leader in ID & Payment Card manufacturing located in Exton, PA, is looking to add a Production Planner to our Supply Chain team to serve as a liaison between departments and coordinate our production operations.
Overview: Primary responsibility will be to collaborate with the Production departments and coordinate the planning and scheduling on the manufacturing floor. Interface with Material Handlers, Planning/Scheduling, Customer Service and Production personnel to coordinate the overall manufacturing operation to meet customer ship dates and maintain on time delivery. Individual will coordinate the forecast from sales and monitor production in order to meet customer delivery requirements.
Role And Responsibilities
- Facilitates and expedites the flow of information to and from various departments
- Deals directly with specific departments to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of required information and data
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field relating to Operations and Supply Chain
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Compiles, maintains and records material inventory records, production records and KPIs manually or using computer
- Compare Job Jacket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment
- Coordinating daily and weekly meetings with cross-functional departments in order to confirm adherence to production schedule to manage customer commitments and production targets.
- Manage & maintain order ship date commitments and communication to CX reps
- Escalate to department managers to when additional support is required
- Support Supply Chain team on current projects and process improvements
- Reads production schedules and inventory reports to define type quantity of materials required, availability of stock and order shipping priority.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and minimum of five years of production planning experience.
- Knowledge of production principles and practices. Understanding of operational flow.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Sequel Server experience
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; familiar with logistics and production planning concepts (e.g., just-in-time, materials requirement planning); broad range of computer skills—database, spreadsheet, statistics applications, and logistics software packages; self-directed; ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change; comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels
