What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Administrator position at IES Custom Staffing?
IES Custom Staffing is hiring immediately for a Shipping Administrator to coordinate logistics at a nutritional ingredients company. As a Shipping Admin, you will help maintain shipping and inventory reports and ensure good communications with our customers.
This is a temporary position for 6-8 months. Top candidates will have shipping experience, as well as Excel and computer skills.
Pay is $16.00 per hour.

- 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Job Summary:
- Allocates and coordinates product movement with Warehouse, Logistics, QA, Production, and other warehouses.
Essential Duties:
- Troubleshoot and identify reasons for variances.
- Check in and check out Drivers.
- Utilize GPS processes and drive zero losses.
- Assist our sales team with allocations, paperwork, questions, etc as needed.
- Assist our QA team with paperwork, mock recalls, questions, rehoming of product, etc as needed.
- Assist the Logistics department and carriers with questions and shipped loads.
- Accurate and proactive allocation of all cheese orders.
- Maintain FIFO on all cheese shipping.
- Maintain accurate order processing.
- Manage all paperwork and files appropriately including maintaining shipping records.
- Answer phones as needed and assist with questions or direct them to the correct person.
- File, receive, scan and upload paperwork as needed.
- Respond to all emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform weekly reports to monitor cheese ages and to maintain FIFO.
- Actively participate in weekly conference calls (i.e. to review orders, stock review, etc).
- Ensure all cheese shipping is in FIFO and in correct spec.
- Manage weekly pallet counts and ordering, and Inventory Forecast.
- Investigate customer complaints relating to shipping errors and help gather information to establish root cause and develop corrective actions to prevent a re-occurrence.
- Maintain excellent communication between logistics, customer service, quality assurance, warehouse operations, etc.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University; one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Experience in at least one of the following order processing, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Report all unsafe activities to the supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
