Responsibilities:
Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, CD, and the Geriatric population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well.

Wellsone has exciting new positions available for a Social Worker, related field, or RN who wishes to move to an office setting. We are hiring 2 positions (1st shift and 2nd shift) we are titling Referral Source Experience Navigator (RSEN). This person will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of the admissions process. Specifically, this person will focus on efficient and effective handling of transfer Requests, Emergency Department referrals and fax transmissions; processing of referrals for possible admission; liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. Additional responsibilities include insurance verification/precertification, patient registration process, scheduling of evaluations, monitoring of bed board, and other clinical duties as assigned by admissions leadership team. To perform this job successfully one must have the ability to interface with customers in a calm, professional manner. Must possess the knowledge of crisis and behavior management, have excellent organizational skills with ability for multitasking, have capability to manage computer systems. This position will be housed in the administrative department but still be under Intake Director supervision.

Job Duties:
  • Provides referral recommendations and appropriate resources when a caller is not appropriate for services;
  • Identifies potential problematic disposition cases, including placement problems, medical needs or developmental delays, and seeks supervision prior to acceptance;
  • Ensures patient signature on all required areas. All information is reviewed with patient in an understandable manner with consideration of age and ability;
  • Coordinates and arranges for emergency medical or psychiatric care in the event a patient is medically compromised. If we cannot accommodate the patient, completes Memorandum of Transfer form accordingly;
  • Participates in staff meetings, program development, and innovations which will enhance the quality of services provided to patients
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Requirements:

Education
: Graduate of accredited School of Social Work or related field; or RN; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 1- 3 years of experience in psychiatric hospital setting. Working knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
Licensure/Certification: If licensed, must be licensed in the State of Indiana.
Additional Requirements: Data entry/ computer experience is preferred. Certification in C.P.I. and CPR.
Hours: 7a-3p; 3p-11p; Monday thru Friday.
Classification: Non-exempt, hourly.
