What are the responsibilities and job description for the Houseman/Technician position at Ildar Ventures?
Here at Sextant Stays in Fort Lauderdale the Houseman position is a crucial part of our team in helping ensure our guests have a memorable experience by doing whatever it takes to provide a problem-free stay!
The primary responsibilities of the Houseman will be through superb fieldwork, which includes (but not limited to): maintaining the public areas & condo residences to ensure a safe and clean experience for guests.
The Houseman's performance will be based on your ability to complete tasks efficiently and without supervision, problem-solve independently, prioritize tasks, implement processes, and communicate effectively.
Additionally, you can expect to do the following during your scheduled shifts:
- General cleaning of guest rooms, public areas and back of house to achieve high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Greet guests and visitors warmly and make them feel welcomed and attended.
- Anticipate guests needs in order to accommodate them and provide exceptional guest service.
- Retrieve and store lost and found items, and answer inquires to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Assisting in other departments if needed.
- Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous work experience in housekeeping is required. Hotel and/or Vacation Rental experience strongly preferred.
- Flexible schedule availability is required.
- Organized, hardworking, ownership mentality and detail-oriented.
- Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking.com, AirBnb, Trip Advisor, etc.
- High energy, bubbly personality and customer service attitude.
- Must have a service oriented mindset and be capable of making every guest feel valued.
- An ability to interact professionally and responsibly with guests, management and vendors.
- A self-starter with a positive attitude, who has the ability to work effectively both in a team environment as well as independently.
- Unintimidated by using mobile apps while in the field for team collaboration and communication (experience with Slack, Google Suite).
- Flexible schedule and is open to working evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Use of a personal vehicle, valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and proof of insurance are strongly preferred.
