Job Description: The Service Technician has a wide variety of skills and can work through complex problems. This person installs, maintains & repairs fuel dispensers; submersible fuel pumps; service station site controllers; credit card readers; cash register consoles; pumping PCW; tank & line monitoring equipment; various other types of equipment found in service stations, convenience gas stations, and bulk plants.
Job Duties
- Observes, analyzes, and determines action for service and repair of equipment.
- Performs repairs and schedules maintenance on equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining tools required for performing the job effectively and safely.
- Perform break fixes and preventative maintenance on service station electronics, computers, and fuel dispensing systems, including electronic, plumbing, and mechanical work.
- Install new equipment following repair, test operation, and adjust, as necessary.
- Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
- Reassemble equipment following repair, test operation, and adjust, as necessary.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Record details of repairs made, and parts used.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Will be required to travel as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Must have a High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to travel with the occasional overnights.
- Must be able to work in all-weather types.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical and drug test.
- Electrical knowledge and excellent mechanical abilities.
- Familiarity with computer operations and an aptitude for learning computer skills.
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical, fuel, electrical, and construction or related repair work. Ability to operate mechanical equipment and machines as described.
