Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Human Resources Coordinator. Under direction, this position will perform professional duties in the area of transactions administration and employee programs for assigned agency divisions. The position will serve as a professional resource for assigned areas, applying extensive knowledge and expertise with personnel systems to answer questions, resolve conflicts, and research information. Job Responsibilities
- Serves as Human Resources Coordinator in the Springfield Office of Employee Services for assigned regions/divisions
- Monitors the personnel tracking system to ensure data entry is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Informs employees of promotional policy
- In coordination with collective bargaining agreements and the Payroll Unit, answers technical and general inquiries from employees with regard to CMS rules, Pay Plan, collective bargaining contracts, payroll discrepancies, insurance and benefits, etc.
- Develops position postings
- Reviews to ensure that transactions and position descriptions correspond for assigned divisions, working with Classification Unit to reconcile and resolve any discrepancies
- Drafts letters in response to inquiries from former employees, prospective employees, other state agencies, and other appropriate entities regarding personnel matters such
- On a rotating basis, answers phones and opens, date stamps, and distributes mail for the unit in the absence of receptionist staff
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college
2. Requires one year of professional experience, preferably in human resources

2. Requires possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel
