Essential Functions
- 30% Under direction, oversees the Order Requests and Requisitions for the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) Veterans’ Home.
- 20% Maintains Fiscal files and records of a confidential nature for the Business Administrator.
- 15% Oversees the Member Benefit Fund Account.
- 15% Enters vendor orders in the BidBuy system.
- 10% Maintains Petty Cash Fund disbursement and records
- 5% Ensures all weekly, monthly, and annual goals are met.
- 5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and one (1) year of technical accounting experience OR four (4) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of accounting techniques
- Extensive knowledge of office methods and procedures
- Two (2) years’ experience of state and non-state accounting procedures
- Two (2) years’ experience of principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and equipment
- Two (2) years’ experience applying established accounting methods and techniques
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to pass a background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical.
- Requires ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Requires ability acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
- Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.

- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime.
