Position Overview
The Division of Family and Community Resources are seeking to hire a manager to oversee the operations of statewide Prevention Services programs for the Bureau of Positive Youth Development. This position administers the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program; and acts as a policy implementing official in administering these statewide programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages the planning, implementation, and evaluation of statewide Prevention Services programs.
- Evaluates assessment data and determines which programs appear to be most effective in promoting youth services programs requiring expansion, and how to most effectively target additional funds to improve services.
- Serves as a working supervisor.
- Coordinates on an annual basis, contract, and grant processing.
- Collaborates with bureau and office staff in designing and maintaining a data system and evaluation system to assist ongoing program planning and evaluation.
- Travels to review performance of agencies and makes written recommendations to higher level management for funding increases or decreases and for major changes in program directions.
- Integrates programs with Office and Division goals and objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college, with coursework in a social or human services field.
- Requires three (3) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Of the three (3) years required experience, requires one (1) year experience developing and implementing multi-provider state and/or federal grant programs ensuring compliance with 2CFR200 requirements (GATA) and one (1) year experience serving as supervisor to subordinate staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year experience developing and implementing multi-provider state and/or federal grant programs ensuring compliance with 2CFR200 requirements (GATA).
- One (1) year experience serving as supervisor to subordinate staff.
- Two (2) years of professional experience utilizing social and human services, principles, and practices for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of professional experience working with population-based prevention models, community assessment and action planning.
- Two (2) years of professional experience developing and managing a major agency program.
- Two (2) years of professional experience utilizing the principles of governmental accounting, program budgeting, personnel, statistics, and procurement.
