JOB FUNCTION
Performs dialysis treatments in accordance with approved facility policies and procedures as well as regulation set forth by the company, state and federal agencies.
Prior to initiation of dialysis, ensures dialysis machine, its alarms, and all products used during treatment are prepped and meet quality standards.
The Dialysis Registered Professional Nurse performs all procedures of dialysis and related patient care and participates in the training program for home dialysis and self-care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
The Dialysis Registered Professional Nurse provides chronic dialysis care and treatment, training and education; evaluates patients, communicates with physician and other members of the care team to interpret, adjust, and complete patient care plans; teaches skills, techniques, and procedures; and assists in research studies.
Complete and document monthly review of patient medication profiles and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary team in all required patient assessment and care planning activities.
He/she is also responsible for understanding, supporting, interpreting, and implementing the philosophy and policies of the corporation.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
Supervising dialysis techs.
Qualifications
– Current in state License as a Registered Nurse
– Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required
– 1 year nursing experience - Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis experience highly preferred
- 6 Months General dialysis experience
