Job Description
Central Michigan company needs a Manufacturing Manager to coordinate activities in several departments. Manage processes, initiate trainings that improve product quality, improve product and employee safety, and reduce production costs. This is a confidential job opening.
- Conduct studies to maximize workflow and process utilization.
- Work on continuous improvement projects that improve safety.
- Work with employees and the union to solve problems and improve communications
- Manage by walking around. Maintain visibility on the production floor.
- Participate in product launches
- Work on plant layout and process improvement projects
- Review production reports and solve manufacturing and equipment problems.
- Seek opportunities for improvements in product and process quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a four-year degree in a similar field is required.
- Eight years’ experience working in manufacturing, and specifically in the manufacturing or assembly of electromechanical devices. Management experience is required.
- Some experience or knowledge about automation and PLC's, in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Experience with labor unions in an electromechanical assembly environment is required.
- Experience or knowledge about lean manufacturing, line balancing, process flow is expected.
