Position Summary/objective:
The Program Manager plays a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the development of groundbreaking immunotherapeutic products. The Program Manager is an integral part of Immatics’ Project Management department and is responsible for driving the successful execution of preclinical and/or clinical projects within Immatics’ drug development pipeline and/or from collaboration with external biotech and pharma partners. The Program Manager is assigned 1-3 of those development projects with the goal of delivering project objectives successfully on time, on budget and of high quality.
Essential functions:
- Prepare and organize Project Team meetings and adhoc meetings, including developing agendas, creating slide-decks, capturing meeting minutes, and tracking action items daily.
- Monitor project deliverables, milestones, and timelines to ensure successful project execution daily.
- Develop, manage, and track project budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Collaborate with Project/Development Leads to coordinate and implement preclinical or clinical R&D projects in the United States and Germany.
- Lead cross-functional program teams and facilitate effective communication among functional leads.
- Act as a primary point of contact with external stakeholders and collaborate closely with collaborator's Project Managers, taking ownership of all scientific and data-related matters.
- Partner with the Alliance Manager and Development Lead to align scientific activities with our strategic objectives.
Secondary functions:
- Participate in global Program Management Initiatives, developing PM tools as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments at Immatics in joint initiatives and projects as needed.

Work environment:
This is a sedentary position (at least 75% of time) in a typical office environment. There may be frequent interruptions with moderate noise levels and frequent use of printers, copiers, scanners, computers and other office equipment. Ability to sit, talk, walk, hear and communicate verbally and in writing is required. Occasional lifting of objects up to 25 lbs is expected.
Physical demands:

- Stooping – occasional bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist - requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Travel required: International travel up to twice per year, and national travel up to twice per year, approximately
Required education and experience:
- PhD in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a comparable education.
- No prior experience needed.
- Management of scientific preclinical or clinical projects.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical/biotech landscape, R&D trends.
Preferred education and experience:
- Some experience in immunology, oncology or cell and gene therapy is an advantage.
- Proven experience in program or project management within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Presentation of complex scientific topics in a concise manner, appropriate for different audiences
- Good understanding of preclinical and clinical drug development processes.
- Advanced knowledge of the PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office skills.
