What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Electrician position at Impact Solutions Inc?
**TRAVEL OUT OF STATE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION**
The electrical and mechanical installers are traveling out of state an average of three weeks intervals. Generally, when they come back, we have them work local for a 1 week before sending them back out of state.
Everything is paid for when traveling out of state. We have a lot of out of state work for the year 2024. When working out of state, the work schedule is 7 days a week, 12-hour shifts. Typically shift time starts at 6:00am.
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical systems. Other responsibilities include supervising and training electrician assistants on the job.
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Able to follow policies and procedures and lead by example
- Develop schedules and create parts lists to complete various electrical scopes of work
- Diligent in ensuring a zero accident philosophy is incorporated into all aspects of construction operations
- Confirm that all tools, equipment, and parts used in the execution of the work are readily available and in good repair
- Effectively communicate with customers, coworkers and management
- Ensure all jobsite requirements and responsibilities are met
- Provide trade specific training and mentoring to staff as required
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
- Install, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment in an industrial setting
- Run EMT and Rigid conduit
- Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
- Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs
- Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacture’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects
- Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a journeyman electrician
- Valid State Journeyman Electrician License
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical prints
- Must always be conscientious about safety
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to read, comprehend, interpret a written scope of work
- Must be proficient in bending and installing up to 4” RMC Conduit
- Must be thoroughly adept at understanding and implementing the National Electrical Code requirements
- Perform basic mathematical and electrical computations and use measuring tools
- Must be able to identify basic trade materials by size, shape, and functions, and safely use power tools and hand tools
- Current valid divers license with a clean driving record.
- Able to work well on a team
- Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistance
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with others
- This position is required to do extensive walking through factory environment production areas
- Must have the ability to independently lift and carry objects safely that weigh up to 20 lbs. routinely, 50 lbs. frequently, and 80 lbs. occasionally
- Possess the ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
- Must be able to travel to the jobsites as assigned in state and out of state
