Job Responsibility

· Help develop a team that can safely meet the business’s needs
· Know and understand the “client’s” Quality and Environmental policies.
· Follows and supports and “clients’” operating principles
· Ensure daily pre-shift inspections are completed and conduct planned inspection audits on each shift. Complete Layered Process Audits and 5S Audits daily for designated area.
· Maintain integrity of quality to ensure finished product meets “client’s” standards, to include the changing of weld tips, wire spools, and cleaning of nozzles to ensure efficiency of weld robots.
· Routinely make visual inspections of emergency evacuation routes correcting any safety concerns immediately.
· Within 24 hours of an accident/incident complete accident investigations identifying root cause and corrective action.
· Conduct weekly safety talks in pre-shift meetings.
· Coordinate and assign job responsibility for team members.
· Complete and maintain team member performance reviews.
· Achieve first time quality and efficiency to meet production requirements
· Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
· Immediately attend to all accidents and injuries and initiate the accident and injury investigation program, while following up to ensure procedure implementation and completion.
· Support company and customer quality systems, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing process. Encourage team to generate Continuous Improvement suggestions.
· Follow and comply with all operational procedures and policies.
· Initiate and administer corrective actions as required.
· Maintain equipment with scheduled preventive maintenance.
· Support the Production Manager, Area Leader, BUL and Assistant General Manager.
· Develop and facilitate on-the-job team member training using Job Instruction/TWI Methodology utilizing Job Element Sheets and updating training matrices and proficiency checklists.
· Report to work prior to the start of scheduled shift to ensure informed handoff from previous shift, and understand line condition prior to start up. Team leaders may also be scheduled to stay after scheduled production to complete end of shift responsibilities. Schedule shifts will be at leadership’s discretion.
· Perform other duties as assigned including filling in for operators when necessary.
· Observe team members once a week to ensure they are following standardized work per the Job Element Sheets and Standard Work Charts.
· Fill out and review “Hour by Hour” sheet hourly. Record problems and corrective actions for each problem. Participate and lead problem solving activities in designated area.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· Directly leads all Team Members in assigned area.
Qualifications
These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Team members will be
required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Post-secondary education preferred, or related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 1-3 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Leadership and supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to promote healthy employee relations in workplace
- Knowledge of OSHA
- Knowledge of DOL compliance guidelines
- Must be willing to obtain weld certification and forklift certification.
