Job Responsibilities:

Permit Coordinator Duties:

Thorough Research: Research development ordinances, comprehensive sign plans, and landlord documents. Understand regulations and zoning laws.

Permit Processes: Understand processes for obtaining permits and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Communication: Effectively communicate with salespeople, project managers, and municipal planners.

Collaboration & Negotiation: Collaborate with sales teams and project managers to determine client needs. Negotiate, if possible, with city planners and landlords to come to agreeable solutions while maintaining positive relationships.

Creativity: Find creative solutions to overcome zoning restrictions, conflicts, bureaucratic processes, and other obstacles.

Detail Orientation: Submit permit packages without mistakes and with an eye towards overcoming foreseeable problems.

Time Management: Submit sign permits in a timely manner. Schedule workdays around council meetings outside normal working hours, if required.

Customer Service: Build strong relationships by using good personal skills, providing value, and honoring commitments.

Experience & requirements:

Minimum Requirements

Permit Acquisition: 3 years of permit acquisition experience, preferably regarding signs.

Preferred Requirements

Permit Acquisition: 5 years of sign industry experience. 3 years in permit acquisition and working with municipalities.

Microsoft Products: Experienced in document creation, especially using Microsoft Word. Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other Microsoft business apps.
