The Purchasing Manager position will interface with Suppliers, Quality, Sales and Marketing to ensure material availability and quality for customer needs, including information flowdown to suppliers both internal and external meets contractual requirements. Ability to follow up and follow business processes. The candidate should have great attention to detail, have excellent written communication skills and strong time management abilities.
Responsibilities include:
Source, monitor and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best pricing, quality and lead time value for the company on materials used in the production process. Main contact point for all supplier communications in the company.
Plan, release, monitor, and movement of purchase orders and delivery dates required to support production schedules through review of Purchase Orders, inventories and production plans for the company.
Creation and tracking of supplier quotes during the bidding process for new work program solicitations.
Purchasing Manager will assist with the planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of material through the product cycle. The successful candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry and strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.
Interface with Quality and Contracts to ensure contractual requirements and guidelines are flowed to and understood by Suppliers.
Coordinate returns/replenishment of discrepant material with suppliers to minimize impact to production process.
Assist in supplier audits both internal and external.
Planning Worksheet – run MRP: review suggestions, interpret demand, execute supply to support inventory and service objectives.
Assist in creation of shipping documents
Requirements for the position include:
Bachelors degree
APICS Cert preferred
Manufacturing experience - 3 years minimum- Rubber products a big plus
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
3 or more years previous Purchasing experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel. Salesforce knowledge a must.
Critical Thinking skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite of products
