Description
The Benefits Specialist under general supervision, supports the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, leaves of absence, and 401(k) plan on a professional level. Works closely with the Benefits Manager in supporting all team members across the organization.
Responsibilities
Ensure the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in ADP and the HRIS to provide carriers with accurate information.
Respond to employees regarding benefit questions and plan changes in a timely manner.
Support the administration of leave of absence requests and help monitor and track status updates.
Assist with annual open enrollment process.
Participate in organizing and conducting New Hire Orientation.
Help in creating benefits training programs and communications.
Distribute new hire and benefit enrollment material.
Assist with wellness program administration.
Assist with Workers’ Compensation related activities.
Process benefit terminations and COBRA administration, as needed.
Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files and assist with audit requests.
Support HR department as needed on additional projects.
Other duties assigned, as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field of study.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably with a focus on benefits administration.
Knowledge of HR policies and procedures, HR best practices, and current regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism.
Ability to handle extremely sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and discretion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
