Senior Controls Software QA Engineer:
Inceed has partnered with a growing global player in the Renewable Energy and Electrical Utility industry to help find a skilled Senior Controls Software QA Engineer to join their team!
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Controls Software QA Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Controls Algorithms, Energy Market Algorithms, and possess domain-specific skills within the Electrical Power Systems and/or Controls industries. The primary focus of this role is to test control systems, with proficiency in Python or C programming. While experience in Web/UI testing is beneficial, we are specifically looking for candidates with a deep understanding of testing within the realm of control systems.
Responsibilities:
Control System Testing:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for control systems, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of algorithms and functionalities.
- Collaborate with the development team to understand system requirements and design test cases that cover critical aspects of control algorithms.
Algorithm Testing:
- Evaluate and validate market algorithms, ensuring their efficiency and effectiveness in diverse scenarios.
- Perform thorough testing of control algorithms to identify and address potential issues or optimizations.
Programming Proficiency:
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python or C programming for the development of automated test scripts and tools.
- Leverage programming skills to simulate real-world scenarios and conduct in-depth testing of control systems.
Domain Expertise:
- Apply domain-specific knowledge to develop test scenarios that mimic real-world conditions in various industries.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in control systems to enhance testing methodologies.
Collaborative Team Player:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and domain experts, to understand system architecture and contribute to the improvement of testing processes.
- Share insights and knowledge with team members to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Resourceful Problem Solver:
- Identify and troubleshoot issues independently, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvements.
- Act as a valuable resource for the team, offering support and guidance when needed.
Continuous Learning and Growth:
- Exhibit an inquisitive personality and a strong desire to learn and grow within the role.
- Proactively seek opportunities for professional development to stay ahead of industry trends and advancements.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in testing control systems, with a focus on algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python or C programming.
- 5 years of relevant hands on professional experience testing sophisticated embedded control systems.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience with market algorithms is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Web/UI testing is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- There is a competitive bonus structure for this role of 10-15% annually.
Other Information:
- This role is looking to be filled at a Mid-Senior level of 7 years of experience. The role could also be filled at a Senior level of 10 years with additional compensation to be discussed.
