What you’ll learn & achieve:

As the Instructional Design Associate, you will:

  • Apply learning theory to design and develop impactful online learning experiences that translate research insights and complex concepts that allow stakeholders to make better, more fire-safe decisions.
  • Conduct needs-analysis to identify and clearly articulate learning objectives to reach target outcomes, with a deep understanding of the target audience.
  • Grasp complex concepts and bring them to life in training for fire service professionals, fire investigators, fire protection engineers, safety educators, academia, government professionals, and the general public.
  • Form and engage productive partnerships with critical internal stakeholders and subject matter experts as part of a cross-functional, Agile team.
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining excellent quality and superior customer service.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools to create content including authoring software, web development and delivery technologies, graphic design software, and project management tools and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Curiosity and ability to learn about trends in learning theory and instructional design processes, and new tools and technologies to engage learners.
  • A keen interest in how people learn, contemporary design, and digital tools for efficient collaboration and content creation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of directly related experience in a similar position or previous experience in curriculum development or user experience design.
