What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Cook position at Indiana Division?
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in or prepare foods by performing general kitchen tasks.
- Cook, trim, portion, carve, bake, etc. Portion meats, vegetables, salads, breads, desserts, etc.
- Fry, boil, broil, roast, and steam meat, poultry and/or vegetables.
- Help unload, store and move supplies.
- Take out trash from kitchen and dining room.
- Sweep and mop kitchen and dining room.
- Wash and restack dishes, pots and pans.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining rooms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of standards of food preparation, serving, and kitchen procedures.
- Experience in a camp setting or an institutional food service setting
- Desire to work in the food service area in a summer camp setting
- Ability to supervise campers and staff
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Ability to learn to do tasks as assigned
- Ability to work well with others
- 18 years of age or older
- Christian exhibiting the principles of Christian living
